Overview

Engineered for Low-Voltage Mobility & Off-Grid

The Low-Series BMS is purpose-built for 12 V to 48 V LiFePO4 packs where space constraints, weight sensitivity, and reliable communication matter. With 80-200 A continuous current, 1-2 A active balancing, and CAN/RS485/Bluetooth in a compact enclosure, it integrates cleanly into RV power systems, marine electrical retrofits, and off-grid solar builds.

Unlike general-purpose BMS units, the Low-Series is optimized for the duty cycles found in mobile and remote installations – where simplicity, reliability, and monitoring access reduce field service overhead.

Situation

Your team is designing a 12V or 24V LiFePO4 battery system for an RV, marine, or off-grid solar installation – and needs a compact BMS with reliable communication, active balancing, and low-temperature charging protection. Space is tight, the environment may be humid or corrosive, and the system must integrate with existing inverter and charge controller equipment.

The Challenge

General-purpose BMS units optimized for stationary ESS are too large for mobile battery compartments and lack the CAN/RS485 communication profiles needed for inverter integration in mobile systems. Without low-temperature heating support, the BMS cannot safely charge in cold conditions – limiting the system's usability in winter camping, marine applications in cold climates, or off-grid cabins at higher altitudes where freezing temperatures are common.

How do you select a low-voltage LiFePO4 BMS with active balancing, CAN/RS485 communication, and low-temperature HEAT heating for RV, marine, and off-grid solar systems?

Our Answer

SSLBATT Low-Series Dedicated BMS delivers 80-200 A continuous current, 1-2 A active balancing, and built-in HEAT low-temperature flexible heating in a compact footprint optimized for 12V/24V LiFePO4 packs. With CAN and RS485 communication for integration with Victron, Deye, Growatt, and other major inverter brands – plus Bluetooth monitoring for local telemetry – it provides reliable protection and remote visibility for RV, marine, and off-grid solar installations. Poland Local Warehouse stock supports 2-3 week lead times for EU customers.

Compact Footprint for Mobile Installations

The Low-Series is designed to fit in battery compartments where space is at a premium – RV pass-through storage, marine battery lockers, and off-grid cabinet installations. The board layout minimizes height and depth while maintaining full-rated current capacity and communication capability.

Low-Temperature HEAT Heating

Built-in HEAT flexible heating enables safe charging below 0 °C by warming the cells before charge current is applied. The BMS controls the heating element based on cell temperature readings – no additional thermostat or separate heater controller required.

Inverter Brand Integration

Pre-tested CAN and RS485 protocol mappings for Victron Energy, Deye, Growatt, GoodWe, SMA, Solis, Huawei, and Schneider Electric inverters. Share your inverter model during technical review and we align the BMS communication parameters before shipment.

Where It Fits Best

ApplicationWhy it fits
RV electrical systemsCompact footprint fits confined battery compartments. Bluetooth monitoring eliminates need for dedicated display panels.
Marine propulsion & house banksCorrosion-resistant terminals and sealed enclosure withstand marine humidity. CAN bus integrates with NMEA 2000 gateways.
Off-grid solar & remote cabinsWide current range supports typical off-grid loads. RS485 enables remote monitoring via solar charge controllers and EMS.

Balance current selection

Balance currentRecommended use
1 A active balancingPacks up to 200 Ah with moderate duty cycles. Sufficient for daily charge-discharge in RV and solar applications.
2 A active balancingPacks above 200 Ah or high-cycle applications. Faster recovery from SOC imbalance in marine and high-demand off-grid systems.

Safety Layer

BMS & Safety

Engineer-grade protection logic designed for low-voltage packs in mobile and off-grid environments where reliability directly impacts safety and uptime.

Overcharge Protection

Per-cell voltage ceiling enforcement with programmable thresholds and balancing activation.

Over-discharge Cutoff

Programmable low-voltage disconnect protects pack health and prevents cell reversal under deep discharge.

Over-current Protection

Dual-threshold response: sustained current limit for normal operation and instantaneous cutoff for short-circuit events.

Temperature Protection

NTC-based monitoring with charge/discharge temperature limits and automatic derating for extreme conditions.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What string configurations does the Low-Series support?
The Low-Series supports 4S to 16S LiFePO4 configurations, covering 12.8 V to 51.2 V nominal packs. This makes it suitable for 12 V RV house banks, 24 V marine systems, and 48 V off-grid solar installations – all with a single BMS platform.
What is the difference between 1 A and 2 A active balancing?
1 A balancing is suitable for standard packs up to 200 Ah where daily voltage drift is minimal. 2 A balancing is recommended for larger packs (200 Ah+) or applications with frequent charge-discharge cycles such as marine propulsion or high-cycling off-grid systems, where faster cell equalization improves usable capacity over time.
Can the Low-Series BMS communicate with my existing inverter?
Yes. The Low-Series supports CAN and RS485 communication with factory-tested protocol mapping for Victron Energy, Deye, Growatt, GoodWe, SMA, Solis, Huawei, and Schneider Electric. Bluetooth monitoring is included for local configuration and telemetry via mobile app. For OEM programs, custom protocol development is available.
What is the lead time and MOQ for Low-Series BMS orders?
Standard lead time is 2-3 weeks for most configurations. MOQ starts at 10 units for standard configurations. For qualified European programs, Poland Local Warehouse can support 3-7 Days DDP replenishment. Custom protocol development and OEM branding may add 1-2 weeks to lead time.
What monitoring options are available for the Low-Series?
The Low-Series includes Bluetooth for local monitoring via the SSLBATT mobile app – view cell voltages, temperatures, SOC, and fault logs in real time. For remote monitoring, CAN bus data can be forwarded to your existing display or EMS, and RS485 allows integration with solar charge controllers and building management systems.
